Thymeleaf speedwell Description:

Habit: Perennial, creeping plant can that can reach a height of 12 inches tall.

Leaves: Opposite but alternate at the apex, less than 1.5 inches long, oval or round, sometimes scalloped edges, short leaf stalk.

Stems: Creeping, green in color.

Flowers: 1/8 to 1/4 inch wide, saucer-shaped, white or blueish white in color, 2 stamens, 4 rounded petals, bottom petal is smaller and narrower than other 3. Top petals are streaked with dark purple on the inside. Bloom May to October.

Fruit and seeds: Flattened, heart-shaped, capsule, less than 1/4 inch long, fringe of glandular hairs along edge. Contains numerous flattened seeds.

Habitat: Native to Asia. Can be found in moist woods, grasslands, waste places, and disturbed sites.

Reproduction: By seed or vegetatively by rhizomes.
